Het moment dat de maan de zon verduistert, waardoor een "corona" (kroon) van licht ontstaat.
Van chocolade, zeepjes tot tosti-ijzers aan toe: tijdens de corona-uitbraak stroomde het bezoekersrestaurant van het ziekenhuis vol met cadeaus. Juist in een tijd dat een tekort aan medische mondmaskers dreigde. Iedereen leek zich af te vragen ‘wat kunnen we doen?’. Dat vangt in één beeld de machteloosheid die bijna iedereen op dat moment voelde.

Mariëlle en Fides Lapidaire maakten van die cadeaus mondkapjes en portretteerden daarmee personeel uit alle geledingen van het Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis.
​
Bij elkaar is het een portret geworden van wat je de ziekenhuishuid kunt noemen. Daar waar ‘binnen’ en ‘buiten’ het ziekenhuis elkaar raakt.
'Wat kunnen we doen?' is momenteel als expositie te zien in het Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis

The moment the moon darkens the sun, creating a "corona" (crown) of light.
​
During the corona outbreak, the hospitals in The Netherlands were flooded with gifts. From chocolates, soaps to sandwich irons. Everybody seemed to wonder "what can we do?" That image captures the powerlessness almost everyone felt at that moment. Precisely at a time when an alarming shortage of medical face masks loomed.
Mother and daughter artist duo Mariëlle and Fides Lapidaire made face masks from these gifts and used them to portray the staff of all divisions of the Jeroen Bosch hospital.
The work is a portrait of what you could call the hospital skin, where the internal and external of the hospital touch each other.

'Wat can we do?' is currently exhibited at the Jeroen Bosch hospital.
